FAQ

What are the requirements to participate in the festival?

ArtePiano Festival is open to all pianists aged 13 and above with a playing standard equivalent to Grade 6 and higher. Enthusiasm to learn and to improve your pianistic skills, as well as an overall passion for music are the most important qualities needed. No audition is required.

When do I arrive?

Participants arrive on Sunday the 14th of July 2024 during the day. Practice time can be arranged from the Monday  onwards.

Can I arrive earlier?

Participants can arrive whenever it suits them. Practice facilities will only be available from the 15th of July though.

How do I get there?

Rome Fiumicino airport offers direct train links to Fara Sabina, just outside Castenuovo di Farfa. The other airport is Rome Ciampino, but an intercity change is required to reach Fara Sabina. There is a bus that runs between Fara Sabina and Castelnuovo di Farfa, but private transfer can be arranged if needed.  For further information, visit the “How to get there” page (under Festival 2023) on the ArtePiano website.

What do I need to bring with me?

It is important to bring your music scores, a pencil, as well as semi formal/formal clothing for the final participant’s concert.

How many teachers will I have?

Each student will have an individual piano lesson with every teacher on the faculty. The group master class will also be with one of the faculty members.

Is it possible to book extra tuition?

All active participants will receive five lessons as part the festival pass. Extra lessons are available, if time permits, at an additional cost.

Will I be able to practise during the week?

There are 10 venues with a piano where practicing and teaching will take place. Participants will have sufficient time to prepare themselves for their lessons and performances.

Do I need to provide my own meals?

The first evening’s buffet dinner, a participant’s pizza night, and the buffet dinner on the final night of the festival are included in the festival pass. Lunch passes will be available to all participants at a cost of €10.

Do I need to organize my own accommodation?

Accommodation is not included in the Pianist Pass and therefore it needs to be organized by participants themselves. Visit the “Accommodation” page (under Festival 2024) on the ArtePiano website to book one of the ArtePiano Homes, or at one of our recommended guest houses/hotels.
