Concepción Pérez-Boj

Biography

The Spanish soprano Concepción Pérez-Boj began her studies at the Professional Conservatory “Francisco Casanovas” in Torrevieja with the soprano Belén Puente, and furthered her studies at the Conservatoire of Music in Alicante under Pilar Páez. She has engaged in master classes and workshops in vocal technique and interpretation with teachers such as Enriqueta Tarrés, Mireia Pintó, Xavier Sabata and Jorge Carrasco.

As soloist she has performed with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Torrevieja (conducted by José Francisco Sánchez) and the Orquesta del Conservatorio Profesional de Altea. She also has performed in the Galas de Solistas as part of the Patronato de Habaneras de Torrevieja.
Leading roles in opera, zarzuela and theater include La Bohème by Puccini, La Tabernera del Puerto (Antigua) by Sorozábal, Serrano’s La Dolorosa (Nicasia), La Corte de Faraón (Queen) by Lleó, The Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, La Revoltosa (Gorgonian) by Chapí, the premiere of Johanan (Virgin Mary) by Aurelio Martinez, as well as performances of Mozart’s Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Gloria by Vivaldi.

Since 2015 she belongs to the opera choir of the Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, performing productions of Nabucco, Simon Boccanegra, Luisa Miller, Manon Lescaut, La Favorita, Cavalleria Rusticana, Hamlet and Enigma di Lea.

Conchita is a member of the Antología de la Zarzuela de José Tamayo and the Amadeo Vives company which frequently tour Spain. She is also a singing lecturer in her hometown of Torrevieja in Spain.
